A 45-YEAR-OLD woman was robbed in the middle of the day whilst pushing her young child in a pushchair in High Wycombe on Friday.

The woman had a necklace with an engraved ring on it snatched from her as she was walking in Wingate Avenue.

The offence took place on Friday, May 23, at about 12.20pm.

Police said the offender, a boy, thought to be around 16-years-old, tapped the victim on the shoulder and when she turned around grabbed her necklace, ripping it off and causing it to snap.

The necklace which was in a rope design, had a gold band ring on it engraved with the words “I love you”.

The offender then ran away in the direction of Cambridge Crescent.

The victim received minor injury to her neck but did not require hospital treatment.

The offender was black, around 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing a zip-up hooded top, predominantly white in colour with a distinctive grey horizontal stripe across the waist area. He was also wearing blue jeans.

Investigating officer, PC Alex Kratky said: “This offence happened in the middle of the day, in an area which is overlooked by many houses and there would have been passing traffic and pedestrians.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed this nasty attack or any of the circumstances surrounding it, or anyone who may recognise the description of the boy and his fairly distinctive clothing to come forward and contact the police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
