A 19-YEAR-old who is already beginning to make waves in the art world raised £600 for a tiger charity by selling a piece of her work.

Shannon Rose Lane, who lives in The Chase, Tylers Green, was part of the Thrive exhibition at The Sanderson Hotel in London, where work was auctioned off to raise money for Save The Wild Tiger.

Her tiger head sculpture was made from clay with silver leaf over it and made £600 at auction.

She said: "I didn't expect it to go for that much. It is so good to give back to a charity.

"It is so hard to value yourself it helps to have someone else value your work."

As well as this, Shannon is going to curate an exhibition at The Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane of female artists in September and an exhibition in Hackney in November.

And in July she is involved in an exhibition called Fugue and is at the Artworks Project Space on Blackhorse Lane in London from July 11 to 20.

Shannon went to Wycombe High School and did a foundation course in art design at Amersham and Wycombe College.

She said: "A lot of it is through networking. I haven't gone to university yet and I don't know whether I want to go.

"It is through contacts and pushing myself."
