THE family of a 21-year-old, who died after a car accident in Amersham last week, have paid tribute to him.

Patrik Biel from Devonshire Avenue died after he collided into a tree on Rectory Hill, Amersham, last Friday, May 23.

Patrik was the third of six brothers in the family, and his parents have said his siblings have been a tower of strength since he passed away.

He leaves behind parents Jacek and Zuzi as well as his five brothers, Luke (23), Tom (22), Berni (19), Damian (16) and Simeon (15) and many more family and friends.

The family said: “We have had hundreds of people through the door every day since he passed away and an infinite amount of phone calls and texts.

“The one thing that is common, and is the one common denominator to everybody who has visited this house, is everybody has mentioned his golden heart and penetrating smile, everybody has their own stories and special memories of him.”

As well as his hobbies which included cars and football, the family said Patrik was also a very religious person.

They said: “The whole family take comfort in knowing that he has gone to God and knowing for whatever reason as weak human beings we cannot question, he is with his maker.

“And because he was so good, clearly his maker wanted him sooner than we as humans should have wished, but that is not our choice.”

Patrik was studying Automotive Mechanics at West Herts College, Kings Langley, three days a week and for another three days he worked for Gowing and Pursey, a company jointly owned by his father and business partner, Charlie Ward.

Patrik worked as a heavy goods vehicle driver for the company – something he greatly enjoyed the family said.

His passion for football had also seen him start a five-a-side team in Ruislip.

Four of Patrik’s brothers played in the game whilst his oldest sibling cheered on from the sidelines as the team won in his honour.

Patrik was driving a Honda S2000 and was travelling on Rectory Hill towards Amersham from the Old Town at about 6pm on Friday, May 23, when his vehicle left the road, police said.

Officers said the car left the road and collided with a tree and subsequently was in collision with a grey Vauxhall Corsa.

Patrik died at the scene. The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was uninjured.

A requiem mass at St Aidan’s in Finch Lane, will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 11am.

Police are still appealing for witnesses. If you have any information please contact police on 101.
