MORE than 2,500 people are expected to attend a sporting event in Wooburn Green next weekend to raise money for charity.
Sportsfest is said to be the biggest children’s football tournament in the South of England, according to organisers.
About 150 teams will compete in the daylong event on Saturday, June 7, from 7.30am.
It will be the twenty-first time Sportsfest has been held and organisers are hoping this year will be bigger than ever.
One organiser, David Kimber, said: “This is the biggest event of its kind in the South of England.
“There are many teams which are for both boys and girls and we expect thousands of supporters to come down too.
“I am really looking forward to it. It is the celebration for our anniversary but it is always enjoyable.
“There will also be a big BBQ, a licensed bar as well as teas and coffees.”
The event will be held all day at Wooburn Park, Town Lane.
