FRESH plans to knock down a nightclub and replace it with housing have been revealed.

Four new houses could be built on the site of the Winkers Farm club in Chalfont St Peter after proposals were submitted to a council.

The club, in Denham Lane, survived a similar application in February by the narrowest of margins, as members of Chiltern District Council's planning committee voted 5-4 against the plans to demolish it.

Councillors said bulldozing the club would constitute a loss of a community building and the development of new housing within the Green Belt was considered inappropriate.

But new proposals to demolish Winkers have been submitted to the council by property developers Kebbell Development Ltd.

The previous plans received 11 letters of support but not the backing of Chalfont St Peter Parish Council, while hundreds of people joined a protest group on Facebook.

The council has indicated a decision on whether to grant planning permission is likely to be made in July.
