Bucks Free Press: Supermarket to close for week-long refit Supermarket to close for week-long refit

A TOWN centre supermarket is to have a temporary shutdown next week as part of a refurbishment.

The Sainsbury's store in Chesham will be closed for a week while work to complete a modernisation of the shop is carried out.

The refurbishment has been taking place for the last month, with the shop remaining open during that time, but the final piece of work requires it to be completely closed.

It will shut up shop at 6pm on Tuesday, June 3, and will fully re-open at 9am on Wednesday, June 11.

The store car park will also be closed for the duration of the work but pedestrian access will be maintained.

Sainsbury's Project Manager David Gilderdale said: "Our revamped store will offer a wider variety of fresh food counters from a more modern and attractive looking store. We very much hope that the local community will welcome the new look to our store and we would like to thank customers for their patience whilst we complete the refurbishment."

Is this a news report or an advertisement feature - will the BFP do the same for Tesco, or Waitrose, or Morrison's?

Sounds like a helpful notice to readers, that the Chesham store of Messrs Sainsbury's is closed for one week, dates and times given, for a refurb. And that their associated car park is also closed.

What the hell has this to do with Tesco? not present in this town (Chesham), or Morrison's ?(not present in Chesham, either).

This notification is not an 'advertisement feature'.
Wait for the next 'news'-plug for John Lewis Wycombe in Bucks Free Press, for 'advertorial' in that vein. Waitrose is part of John Lewis.
- Yes it is a news report. Sainsbury's Chesham closed for a week.

I do wish that there were a Lidl / Aldi alternative, in Chesham and Amersham.
