AN artistic discipline using the medium of sound is being brought to the Arts4Every1 Centre this weekend.

Curatorial duo Edmund and Anna Harcourt from Hogarth Productions have put together an arts programme at the centre in Desborough Road.

The first event was a successful exhibition of interactive art in High Wycombe Town Centre, with the highlight being The Wycombe Chairman- a ten foot interactive puppet made from old town chairs.

And the next event is this Saturday, which will be an exhibition of sound works, delivered by experimental artists including music from Martin Creed (Turner Prize Winner 2001), poetry from Dutch sound poet Jaap Blonk and contemporary classical musicians MA_DUO.

Wycombe Listening is the first event of its kind in High Wycombe. The one night event will transform the former church, presenting performance and installation with interactive exhibits that will introduce you to Sound Art.

The other artists at the event are live art and theatre makers Nigel and Louise, sculptor Michael Fairfax, sonic artists Mike Blow and Alison Ballard, media artists Signal to Noise, contemporary artist Patrick White and film maker Matt Hulse.

The other events in the programme are on June 7, with a dance event featuring two internationally touring dance companies- Candoco Dance Company and Signdance Collective.

On June 21 Red Herring Productions come to High Wycombe and create a show set in three cars.

Tickets for all events are £5 in advance or £8 on the door. Tickets are available from www.arts4every1.com/page/ticket-office. For any enquiries call 01494 445 517 or email info@arts4every1.com.

Wycombe Listening is on May 31 from 7 to 10.30pm at Arts4Every1 in Desborough Road, High Wycombe
