A HOMECOMING event for 16 cyclists - who will have travelled 1500 miles in 14 days in the name of charity - will be held at Adams Park.

The brave cyclists set off from the Rock of Gibraltar on Sunday with the aim of peddling to the home of Wycombe Wanderers within two weeks.

They were set on their way by the Deputy Mayor of Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino and ex Miss World 2010 as part of the RockRide2 challenge, which is organised by the Buckinghamshire Freemasons.

The inaugural event in 2010 had just nine cyclists but still managed to raise £75,000 for charity.

The second challenge has already smashed that target, with the riders already raising £225,000 for the 12 charities – with organisers hoping to hit the magical quarter-of-a-million mark.

The riders will be welcomed home at Adams Park at 1pm on June 14 as part of a Family Fun Day, which will feature live music, a beer tent, food stalls, games and face painting for the children.

Tickets for the event, which kicks off at 11am, cost £5 via 07966757312 or 07785247940.
