CREATIVE students at Buckinghamshire New University are putting the finishing touches to work being displayed at its end-of-year art and design show, taking place later this month.

The Bucks End of Year Show 2014, featuring a range of attention-grabbing work, includes a private view from 6pm next Friday, June 13, followed by the show from Saturday, June 14, until Thursday, June 19, at the University’s Campus in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe.

It will include eye-catching design pieces created by undergraduate and postgraduate students on the University’s art & design, creative, and furniture courses in materials from ceramics and glass to metal, silver and wood.

The show features work from the University’s wide range of courses, including Advertising: Creative, Fine Art, Foundation Studies: Art, Design and Media, Furniture, Graphic Arts, Product Design, Spatial Design, and Textiles and Surface Design.

Andreas Fabian, Course Leader for 3D Contemporary Crafts & Products, said: "We are all looking forward once again to this year’s show and seeing another strong display from a particularly talented crop of students.

"We are keen for as many members of the public as possible to visit the University and see our students’ work. It should be a fantastic week so we would encourage people to join us."

The Bucks End of Year Show is part of Bucks Open Studios, where over 500 artists and makers, in over 200 different venues across Buckinghamshire, open their studios and run exhibitions and events for the public to visit.

The show is open to the public from 10am-3pm on Saturday June 14 and Sunday 15 June; from 10am-4pm on Monday, June 16; 10am-7.30pm on Tuesday, June 17, and Wednesday, June 18; and from 10am-4pm on Thursday, June 19.

Pieces will also be exhibited at New Designers, at the Business Design Centre, in Islington, London, between June 25 to 28 and July 2 to 5, and at D&AD New Blood at The Old Truman Brewery, in Brick Lane, London, from July 1 to 3, as well as at the prestigious Indigo Paris 2014 exhibition between September 16 to 18.
