A MOTORCYCLIST died this morning following a collision on the A40.

At 11.30am on the A40 Oxford Road at the junction for Christmas Common, Stokenchurch a silver BMW X5 car was in a collision with a grey Yamaha R1 motorcycle.

The 41-year-old male motorcyclist died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Firefighters were called at 12.34pm, who released a man, injured, using hydraulic rescue equipment. Another man was released, injured, before they arrived.

The driver of the car is being treated for minor injuries at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
