BUCKS Open Studios is now half way through. If you haven’t visited a studio yet, now is the time.

There are plenty of different styles to suit all tastes with more than 500 artists taking part.

Across the county artists have opened their studios to allow the public to view their art, and to buy if they so wish.

Following last week’s feature, here are just a few more artists taking part:

NSIC Creatives, Obsidian Gallery, Layby Farm, Old Risborough Road, Stoke Mandeville.

Mixed Media Creative Group, Open every day- weekdays 10am to 6pm and weekends 10am to 5pm.

PATIENTS from Stoke Mandeville’s National Spinal Injuries Centre will be showing off works of art, which they have produced as part of their rehabilitation. An exhibition at the Obsidian will showcase the work of around a dozen patients from the unit. The gallery has donated free wall space for the exhibition during its Bucks Open Studios event. On show will be a silk painting celebrating the Chinese year of the horse made by the group, wall hangings made from cut-up plastic bags fused with an iron and another from glass pieces; pottery bulrushes and acrylic paintings. Patient Eddie Coombs said: "Creating the mosaic was a completely new experience which also helped me improve my hand skills. Other arts and crafts have let me use my imagination and they have definitely been a mood-raising and fun part of my rehabilitation here at the NSIC."

Nicola Metcalfe, 212, Marlow Bottom, Marlow, SL7 3PR.
