Donkey Derby to be held in Beaconsfield
RESIDENTS will celebrate 15 years of a great town tradition next weekend as the Donkey Derby races back into Beaconsfield.
The showpiece event of the Beaconsfield Lions Club and St Marys and All Saints School, offers something for everyone this year.
As well as the main event of the donkey races there will be something for the whole family with lots of rides, entertainment and refreshments on offer.
As well as a barbeque and a bar there will also be an arts and craft stall, an assault course, a bouncy castle, a caricaturist, a rope swing ride and an octopus ride.
Beaconsfield Lions Club publicity officer, Ian Andrew, said: “People in Beaconsfield always seem to like this event.
“We normally get quite a lot of people come out for the day.
“Hopefully the weather will be good and everyone can enjoy a really nice day out.
“We obviously want to do our best to try and raise as much money as possible. The Beaconsfield Lions Club uses our half of the money raised to donate to various charities.”
Organisers are still in need of more jockeys for the day’s races. Jockeys should be between 10 and 15-years-old, weigh no more than eight stone and be a competent horse rider, organisers have said.
