MARYLEBONE station has re-opened this morning after works to replace burnt-out signal cables was completed.

Chiltern Railways said yesterday the station - the London terminus used by the vast majority of Bucks rail commuters - would remain closed until further notice after a weekend fire took out the signalling system.

No trains were able to leave Marylebone yesterday for safety reasons, causing travel chaos for county residents.

But after engineers worked around the clock last night, services are now up and running again.

However Chiltern Railways has warned passengers about the possibility of minor delays and last-minute cancellations.
