A HUNGRY duck had to be rescued by the RSPCA after it mistook a bottle seal for a worm.
The female mallard had to have the seal removed after it got caught around its beak.
She was spotted in the water near The Drive, Bourne End, on Sunday, June 8, and was later rescued by RSPCA officers.
The RSPCA are now urging people not to litter as it can injure and in some cases prove fatal for animals.
ACO Wright said: “Luckily the duck wasn't injured so once I had checked her over I released her back onto the water to be with her mate.”
