ROADWORKS on a Marlow street hit a slight snag this week after workers had to swerve to avoid a parked car.

Despite parking restrictions and dated warning signs, one forgetful motorist seemed to miss the announcement of the resurfacing work on Station Road.

And Bucks County Council workers were forced to miss a spot of tarmac as they worked round the stationary vehicle during the three day operation.

Motorists have been urged to look out for any warnings of forthcoming work in their neighbourhoods to avoid any similar problems

Surely they could have forcibly removed the car? Now it is going to cost the council more to send the crews back to resurface that one small area which will now be more prone to potholing as the join will likely remain a potential ingress for water. Tow the car or impound it and teach the idiot a lesson.

You would have thought the council would have the power to tow the car away. If they haven't then maybe they should look at getting it.

All involved are just so stupid. Simple solution, call the parking enforcement lift lorry lift the offending care and place it where the road has been surfaced. If you want to see this in operation go to QPR at Loftus Road on a match day morning before the fans arrive.

Everyone is quick to assume the driver is "an idiot" and should be towed or fined or both. No one seems to have considered that he may be seriously ill in hospital, have absolutely no idea that the road was due to be resurfaced and is just living from one hour to the next hoping that he will eventually recover. Grow up.
