MARSHMALLOW toasting and making leaf crowns was the order of the day at Penn Woods.

On Saturday more than 120 people headed to the woods to mark 15 years since the acquisition of Penn and Common Woods with a summer festival.

Held by The Woodland Trust and the Penn and Tylers Green Residents Group, people were encouraged to join in with many activities including basket making, wood turning and fire lighting.

Paul Jarczewski, Woodland Trust site manager, said: "The acquisition of Penn Woods has been one of our biggest success stories and the local community has played a huge part. It was great to see so many people on Saturday to help us mark this significant anniversary. We are continuing to restore and improve the woods and have many exciting plans for its future."
