Manhunt on as two violent criminals escape Bucks prison
8:36am Tuesday 1st July 2014 in News
A MANHUNT is underway to catch two violent criminals, including a murderer, who escaped from a Bucks prison on Sunday.
Police are calling for the public’s help to trace Darren Douglas, 46, who stabbed a man to death in Birmingham, and Ricardo Dunn, 32, who was serving time for GBH with intent.
However, officers have warned people not to approach them but to contact police instead.
The two men absconded from HMP Spring Hill in Grendon Underwood in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Douglas was serving a life sentence for a murder he committed in Birmingham in 1998, where he stabbed a man during an altercation outside a pub.
Dunn was serving an indeterminate sentence following a conviction for GBH with intent in Burnley, where he assaulted a man following a verbal altercation in the street in 2009.
Ch Insp Olly Wright, deputy local policing commander for the Aylesbury Vale area, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen these men in the area and can provide us with information about their movements.
“These men were both convicted for violent offences and I would advise anyone who sees them, to not approach them and call police immediately.
“Both men have links with other areas so may have travelled out of the Thames Valley to those areas. I would like to remind people that it is a criminal offence to harbour these men and anyone caught doing so would be arrested.”
Anyone with information about the location of these men should contact Thames Valley Police via the 24-hour Enquiry Line 101.
