MARLOW’S very own orchestra is gearing up for its first ever performance this month in an unusual location after launching earlier this year.

Conductor and founder Tom Horn is encouraging anyone who enjoys live music to come down to Clayton's pub and sample some Arnold with their Amstel and Schubert with a Sauvignon.

The group of musicians, brought together by 28-year-old Mr Horn from Marlow, have been rehearsing weekly since January at Christ Church.

And now the fun-loving group, who use the ensemble to socialise as well as play their instruments, are embarking on their first concert - a pop-up show at the Marlow watering hole.

Mr Horn, who started playing the violin at the age of three, launched this group as a way to bring the community together and to further his ability as an amateur conductor.

And to encourage young people to get involved, the conductor and orchestra leader is offering free admission to full time students.

The orchestra take to the stage at Clayton’s on Oxford Road on Tuesday evening, July 15, with entry to the concert free.
