A SECOND prisoner who escaped from a Buckinghamshire prison has been caught in Aylesbury.

Darren Douglas absconded from HMP Spring Hill open prison in Grendon Underwood on Sunday, along with Ricardo Dunn.

Douglas, 46, orginally from Birmingham was arrested by police yesterday afternoon after he was located via CCTV in Aylesbury Bus Station shortly after 4pm.

Aylesbury LPA commander Supt Gez Chiariello said: “We have arrested a 46-year-old man in Aylesbury today.

“I want to thank the public for their help in this investigation and the residents of Aylesbury for their patience whilst the search was carried out.

“Hopefully life in Aylesbury can now return to a state of normality.”

Ricardo Dunn, 32, formerly of Burnley, Lancashire, was arrested by officers in Thame Road, Aylesbury on Wednesday night.

Douglas is serving a life sentence for a murder he committed in Birmingham in 1998, where he stabbed a man during an altercation outside a pub.

Dunn is serving an indeterminate sentence following a conviction for GBH with intent in Burnley, where he assaulted a man following a verbal altercation in the street in 2009.
