MUCH of the east side of Wycombe is without electricity after a power cut which began this afternoon.

Residents of Flackwell Heath and Wycombe Marsh have reported supplies to be down from around 2.20pm.

Supplier SSE Power Distibution has confirmed the fault, which is affecting the HP10 area.

A spokesman said: “We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are working to get the power back on as quickly as they can.”

As yet, there has been no confirmation of when the power supply will return.

Who wrote this drivel? I don't believe they are "in darkness" as the headline suggests unless sunset in HP10 occurs mid-afternoon. In December, yes, in July, no. If the power is still off at 9.30pm then the headline might be truthful.
