A GROUP has been set up to look at whether Marlow should take control of more of its green spaces after complaints at the state of grass verges.
Marlow Town Council has established a working group to investigate whether the funding deal on the table to take over maintenance, worth nearly £25,000 over four years, is in the town’s interests.
Marlow could be given funding for the next four years to look after its own roadside verges, labelled "horrible" by Mayor Suzanne Brown.
But for the scheme to go ahead, Marlow town would need to team up with a cluster of nearby parishes to share services among themselves.
The team will study the pros and cons of taking on the responsibility, which would extend to any verges on roads with 30mph speed limit or below, and report their findings at the next town council meeting.
