A BUILDING site has been closed after a second “unexploded shell” was found by workers this morning.

Police were called to a housing development site in Sierra Road, High Wycombe, at 8.15am after builders found a small device.

A controlled detonation took place at about midday and contractors have been sent home, Thames Valley Police said.

The Health and Safety Executive has also been notified following the discovery of the unexploded device – the second in two days.

Experts disposed of a shell, believed to be a Second World War hand grenade, in Booker yesterday after it was found by builders shortly before 10am.

Riley Anderson, 32, shot this video (below) from her flat which shows police and bomb disposal experts talking in a van on the site today.

The mother-of-three said: “It’s very worrying – how many more of these things will they find over there? And could our houses be built on them?

“The worst thing about it is we’ve not been told anything or what either the housing association or the contractors plan to do about it.”
