DRIVERS in Marlow will be forced to take the long way round this weekend as Marlow Bridge is closed for roadworks.

The iconic Thames crossing will shut from 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and will reopen fully on Monday.

This will allow Bucks County Council crews to repair defective surfacing under the arch nearest to Marlow Rowing club.

Teams will also realign the dislodged bollard adjacent to The Compleat Angler.

The suspension bridge will remain open to pedestrians all weekend.

Diversions are in place along the A4155 Little Marlow Road and A404 Marlow Bypass, with Transport for Buckinghamshire warning of delays.
