A SUPERMARKET in Beaconsfield celebrated a national employee ownership day with a bake-off competition.

John Lewis and Waitrose stores across the country held a ‘Partnership Day’ on Friday, July 4.

In the Beaconsfield Waitrose store, in Penn Road, more than 100 people got involved in a Great British Picnic, a bake-off competition and a quiz.

The culinary skills of the staff were put to the test as they were tasked to spell out Waitrose and number 177 – their store number.
