THE body of a teenage boy has been recovered from the River Thames in Marlow tonight.

Thames Valley Police confirmed that shortly after 8pm the body of a 13-year-old boy, believed to be from the town, was found in the river by Gossmore Lane.

The family has been informed.

The area was cordoned off after police received reports of a person struggling in the water at about 4.30pm.

The Specialist Search and Rescue Team was called in and spent hours searching the river before their heartbreaking discovery.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and officers are preparing a report for the Buckinghamshire Coroner.
