A SAUNDERTON charity is calling on the community to help raise funds for a new pup vehicle.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has launched its first ever crowdfunding campaign as it aims hit a £15,000 target in just five weeks for a vehicle to transport puppies and hearing dogs across the UK.

The charity, which trains dogs to change the lives of deaf people, urgently needs the van to transport people, puppies, equipment and dogs-in-training.

This includes delivering a hearing dog to their new deaf recipient, moving puppies between training centres, taking deaf people and their potential hearing dog to new environments to practice working and taking dogs to receive health checks.

Crowdfunding is a new platform that raises funds using the support of the crowd.

Anyone who donates to the Hearing Dogs’ pup-mobile will have the opportunity to receive a reward in return, but the charity will only receive the vehicle if the full funding target is achieved within the given time frame.

Exclusive rewards are on offer to supporters of the campaign, including sponsorship of a hearing dog puppy, a signed photo print from award winning photographer Paul Wilkinson, and a quiz night for businesses or groups of friends at its grounds in Saunderton.
