A NEW parish clerk has taken the helm at a Marlow council after his long-serving predecessor stepped down this month.

Peter Druce will take on the role at Great Marlow Parish Council after clerk of seven year Lucille Brion left to pursue her career as an academic.

Mr Druce pledged his support to the council at the final meeting before its summer break, vowing to support members on difficult issues such as the Wycombe district Local Plan.
