THE FAMILY friend of a Marlow teenager who died in a tragic accident while on holiday this month is helping to raise money to cover the cost of flying his body back to the UK.

The parents of James Fifield had to pay thousands of pounds to have him flown back to them after they said their insurance company would not pay out.

The 18-year-old was killed in a road collision on Saturday, July 5, while he was on holiday with seven friends in Zante, Greece.

After hearing about the payment, John Allen, the father of one of the friends started fundraising for them.

So far, he has helped raise almost £3,500, despite only initially setting a target of £1,000. James’ mother, Claire Fifield-Moore, said: "It is unbelievable the amount of support we have had from everyone.

"We have been quite overwhelmed by the kindness of people like John and all the money they have helped to raise.

"There are many people, including ourselves who are out there helping fundraise as there are a number of charitable ideas we are looking in to.

"We really want to honour James’ life by helping others and particularly charities."

To boost the fundraising effort Mr Allen ran in last week’s Wycombe half marathon and finished in a sub-two hour time.

Yes, you are wrong. In every sense of the word. To speculate so callously and with such ignorance is both irresponsible and unforgivable. Shame on you.

What a disgusting comment...a young boy has lost his life for goodness sake. I'm sure if he could turn back time he would wear a helmet. And who's to say that even if a helmet was worn he would have survived! Lets hope that you never loose someone close to you. SHAME ON YOU!!! Leave your nasty comments to yourself next time please!
