ON August 15 Billy Gallacher will don his Elvis outfit for the 25th year in a row to raise money for Scannappeal.

Billy and the Bonquas have been playing the annual gig every summer of the king's hits to raise money for the charity.

And in the last year, Billy, who is a life long Elvis fan has met Priscilla Presley, who was married to the singer for six years.

He met her on a cruise to Greece, Croatia and Turkey.

Billy said: "It was quite something. I never would have thought I would get to meet her. She was a natural and very nice."

Elvis' band performed twice during the cruise and Billy met lead guitarist, James Burton once again.

Billy, who went on the cruise with his wife, Christine, said: "We had dinner with James Burton and his wife one day.

"I had met him before but we renewed our acquaintance. I had much more of a chat with him."

Elvis died on August 16, 1977 and Billy always puts on the concert around this date.

It includes Elvis' hits from the 50s, 60s and 70s and this year they are performing one of his lesser known songs, It's Easy For You.

The night with Billy and the Bonquas is raising money in aid of Scannappeal which provides advanced medical equipment for patients in the area.

Elvis, The King Remembered is at Hazlemere Community Centre, Hazlemere on Friday, August 15 at 8pm. There is a bar and tickets are £12.50 from 01494 439912.
