A NEW Tesco Express store in Bourne End may not open until early winter, a company spokesman has said.
The store, in The Parade, which has been part of a long running planning process, was finally given permission to open two weeks ago.
The supermarket originally planned to open on March 18 but had to postpone after they were forced to apply for further planning permission after they made amendments to their original plan.
A new statement from Tesco said: “We are hoping to open the store in the late autumn, early winter of this year.”
Jim Penfold the chairman of the Bourne End Residents Association recently said he hopes the store opening would not ‘seduce’ residents into changing their shopping habits.
