A PIZZA takeaway could replace an Amersham menswear shop that's set to close this month.

Plans to convert Roberts Menswear in Hill Avenue into a hot food takeaway have been submitted to Chiltern District Council this week.

Forms sent to the council as part of the application state the planned shop would sell pizzas.

If given planning approval the new shop would be open from 11am-11pm every day and employ four full time and six part time members of staff.

Roberts Menswear, which has been in the town since the 1960s, is due to close later this month.

Chiltern District Council is likely to rule on whether to grant planning permission at the end of September.
