A PHOTO group has updated its database of photos of the historic West Wycombe village.

The Chiltern Society PhotoGroup has updated its West Wycombe album for its archive, following a recent photo shoot.

Besides the many historic buildings along the High Street, other subjects included the Georgian church of St Leonard, the Dashwood family mausoleum and West Wycombe Park.

The new album has 73 images, several of which were taken about 50 years ago, making this among the most comprehensive photographic records of this iconic Chiltern village.

The group's archive currently contains more than 6,600 photographs representing around 190 searchable locations in the Chilterns.

Many photos come from members' outings, but most are from volunteers undertaking specific projects.

The aim is to create a comprehensive photo record of the special character, qualities and amenities of the Chilterns for the benefit of later generations.
