ANOTHER pop-up business will join the roster on an ever-changing town centre street in an initiative to give retail in the area a boost.

Artists from High Wycombe’s successful Commercial Square Studios have pooled their talent to open a gallery selling their work on Spittal Street in Marlow, home to a row of short-term retail premises.

It is the fifth pop-up business to take up a temporary lease after landlord Sorbon Estates, part of Shanly Group, took the step to generate footfall on the stretch where a number of businesses have closed recently.

Eleven artists will hang works for sale in the store for six weeks, starting from August bank holiday weekend.

Commercial Square studios is a group of 19 fine artists working in a wide range of disciplines including painting, printmaking, drawing, textiles, mosaic, glass, sculpture and ceramics.

It was founded 10 years ago by graduates from Bucks University and this year welcomed over 800 visitors during the busy Bucks Open Studios art trail.

The shop will replace the Vintage Chest, which opened in June.
