PLANS for 76 new houses on a two hectare site in Prestwood have been met with fierce opposition.

A total of 68 letters of objection have so far been received by council planning bosses in relation to the proposals.

The houses would be built on what's described as non agricultural scrubland by developers off Lodge Lane in the centre of the village.

The plans are for 46 two and three bedroom houses, flats and maisonettes, 30 affordable homes and a play area.

The proposals form an outline planning application, meaning if given approval the applicant would need to resubmit detailed plans of how the homes would look and what they would be constructed of.

Members of Chiltern District Council's planning committee are set to rule on whether to grant approval in October.
