A FORMER business site in Saunderton could be turned into housing as Wycombe District Council has proposed to release a number of reserve sites for development.
The Molins business area in Haws Lane, Saunderton, had been earmarked by the council for an area of employment but with a high need for housing, this could potentially be unlocked to developers.
New government framework stated the district needs to develop between 500 and 700 new homes every year, with the council previously being asked to work to a target of 400 homes.
By proposing to release reserve sites, Slate Meadow, Gomm Valley and Ashwells, Abbey Barn South and North and Terries Farm a large portion of the housing for a five year land supply would be filled.
However, with rough estimated figures published in the local plan, it would appear more housing would still be needed.
The council have said they need to ensure they can guarantee enough housing for the five year land supply to improve their chances of rejecting developer’s appeals to build where they like within the district.
