STAFF and sixth formers at The Highcrest Academy in High Wycombe spoke of their delight today after an ‘outstanding’ set of results.

At A Level and equivalent, every student at the academy in Hatters Lane achieved a 100 per cent pass rate - all at the top grades of A*, A and B with just one exception.

This shows a 5 per cent improvement on last year and all year 13 students have received their first choice university place.

Those applying for apprenticeships also had their places confirmed.

Principal Shena Moynihan said: "We are incredibly proud and pleased for all of our students. This is testament to the hard work of all of our students and staff.

"We are also delighted at the excellent AS results, where over 50 per cent of the students achieved the very top grades. BTEC results in Year 12 were also encouraging, which bodes very well for next year."

Sanam Mohammad gained four As and two Bs at AS level and is hoping to go to university to study history and English after her A Levels next year.

Bilal Khan was also thrilled with his A and three Bs at AS level.

He said: "I was happy. I think my grades are good. I plan to work hard next year and secure a place at a university for dentistry. It’s been a good year. We had good teachers and good support."

Anaum Khan who wants to become a chemist, secured an A, two Bs and a C at AS level. She said: "I am pleased with my results but hoping to do even better next year."

Mahnoor Afridi, who gained three Bs and a C at AS level, said after opening her results: "Wow, it was amazing. It was shocking – but in a good way."
