LONG delays are being experienced by motorists on the M40 after an earlier accident involving a lorry and a car.
Initially all three lanes of the northbound carriageway between junctions 4, Handy Cross, and 5, for Stokenchurch, were closed following the accident this morning.
The motorway has now partially re-opened but major tailbacks are being reported.
The Highways Agency has warned motorists that normal traffic conditions are not expected to return on that stretch of the motorway until 2.30pm.
