A FOOD bank in Chesham could be given a new home for the next five years.

An application to convert a disused shop in The Broadway into a base for the charity to work from has been submitted to Chiltern District Council.

The plans are for a change of use from retail to food bank for a temporary period of five years.

The proposals have been welcomed by Chesham Town Council, with the district likely to make a ruling on the plans next week.

Chesham's current food bank is based in Church Street and the charity is looking for a new home.

The premises they are looking to move in to was previously occupied by the Bookthrift Group, which shut up shop in 2011 after being deemed financially unviable.

No faith in the election result next year then!!! Would it be worth our while going to vote next May if you have no faith in any political party if you are looking at premises for the next five years!!!!
