COULD a member of a crime gang be living in your neighbourhood? That is the question from Thames Valley Police as it calls on people to be vigilant against organised crime.

The force says it has identified 124 organised crime groups across the region, with 68 currently active.

The remainder have either been disrupted or the intelligence has dried up, prompting officers’ calls for public assistance in catching the criminals.

Activities can range from drug supply, robbery and burglary, human trafficking and exploitation, child sex exploitation, firearms crime, vehicle theft, gang related crime, fraud and cyber crime.

Police have issued advice on what to look out for in the area:

• People living beyond their means

• Unusual patterns or increased activity at an address

• Paying for expensive items with cash

If you have any information about organised crime please report it via 101.
