A MARLOW radio boss took up the challenge from the town’s mayor and went under the ice bucket as part of an online charity challenge and internet craze.

Tim Ashburner, founder of community station Marlow FM, accepted Cllr Suzanne Brown’s nomination after she publicly faced the Ice Bucket Challenge in Marlow town centre on Saturday.

Mr Ashburner, who along with other radio volunteers recently celebrated three years on air, suffered the same icy fate as hundreds of other nominees since the challenge began.

Cllr Brown's turn came after she was singled out by BFP reporter Andy Carswell, who in turn had accepted the challenge from Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth.

The internet craze has swept the globe over the last week, with stars such as David Beckham and Kate Moss getting a cold shower to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease.

And even former US president George W Bush got into the act after his nomination from world number one golfer Rory McIlroy.
