BOBBING heads usurped Marlow's swans in their usual stomping ground on Sunday morning during an unusual spectacle for charity on the glistening surface of the Thames.

More than 400 of the rubber-capped creatures were spotted racing along the stretch, with the sunkissed Marlow bridge providing a backdrop for the chilly challenge.

Spectators lined the banks to cheer on the competitors, who took on three different distances as part of the Human Race Open Water Swim series.

Matt Steere triumphed over the gruelling 3km distance in 39:04, with Jordan Sexton triumphing over 1500m in 20:59.

And Craig Bransby was first out of the water in the 750m swim, finishing in just 10:20.

Sue Ryder was the official charity for the swim, with many competitiors pledging funds towards the hospice and care provider.
