A CAMPAIGN group who have attempted to stop the Slate Meadow reserve site being released for development hope the strength of feeling against plans will be taken into account.

The area of land separating Bourne End and Wooburn Green was earmarked for a possible development of 175 homes when Wycombe District Council released their Local Plan earlier this year.

Since then residents have petitioned the council to remove the area from their plans.

However, it was recently announced WDC proposed to release reserve sites Slate Meadow, Gomm Valley and Ashwells, Terriers Farm and Abbey Barn South and North for development.

One of the leading Save Slate Meadow campaigners, Miriam Blazey, said: “We still have hope that these reserve sites won’t be released.

“I think we feel frustration that there doesn’t appear to be an output for the signatures we received and we just want the strength of feeling behind saving Slate Meadow to be taken into account.

“We would like every possibility to be exhausted before reserve sites are released and we don’t feel every option has been looked at.

“We are not against development we just feel it has to be in the right place.”

An e-petition against Slate Meadow being developed received 1,272 signatures.
