THE future of a community bus service hangs in the balance, with a council looking for residents’ feedback before its future is considered.
After year’s trial ending in December, councillors will decide whether to continue the 160 Saturday service to Marlow town centre, which was launched after residents’ requests.
And a survey is being circulated to gather people’s opinions on the route, from Marlow Bottom and Little Marlow via the town centre, before a decision is taken.
The council-funded service was made possible by additional funding from Marlow Town Council, Marlow Bottom and Little Marlow Parish Councils and Bucks County Council Local Area Forum.
When it launched, councillors were hopeful it would ease congestion and give young people and the elderly in particular more freedom to get to and from town on weekends.
The 160 is operated by Red Eagle Buses under contract to Transport for Buckinghamshire.
The timetable can be collected from the Town Council office in Court Garden or the Information Centre in Institute Road, or downloaded from www.transportforbucks.net
And the questionnaire will be available from September throughout Marlow, Little Marlow and Marlow Bottom.
