ARIAS will ring out through the Hambleden Valley from next week as a rural farm is transformed into an opera venue for charity.

For the ninth year running, the world renowned Diva Opera will bring the sounds of classical Europe to the 18th century Great Barn at Manor Farm in Fingest for performances over two weekends.

The Tales of Hoffman by Offenbach will kick off the spectacle on September 6, with Mozart’s Don Giovanni premiering the following Saturday.

The evening shows, all in aid of hospice charity Helen and Douglas House, take place in the large adapted barn in the picturesque valley spot.

Mary Boullin, Community & Events Fundraising Manager for Helen and Douglas House, said: “The money raised by this wonderful event makes such a difference to the young people and their families who visit Helen & Douglas House from Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas.

“We rely almost entirely on the generosity of people in our community to be able to run the two hospice houses.”
