THE Mayor of High Wycombe was drenched in the name of charity as he was locked in the stocks at a community festival.
Mayor Khalil Ahmed and Rev Hugh Ellis from All Saints Parish Church were restrained and pelted with cold water and sponges at the festival held at The Hamilton Academy on Saturday.
The event, organised by the Mayoress Zareen Ahmed, also featured stalls and games, raising £1,000 for the Mayor’s Appeal.
Mayor Ahmed said: “It was a very good event and I am grateful to the people that attended and those who donated prizes for the raffle.
“But it wasn’t much fun being in the stocks – I think I’ll chicken out of the Ice Bucket Challenge as I got cold and wet enough.”
