A SECURITY guard was punched in the stomach before his attacker fled wielding a knife at a Tesco Express in High Wycombe this afternoon.

The incident happened at around 3pm outside the convenience store on London Road.

The guard gave chase after being assaulted but the attacker ran off brandishing a knife at him.

The attacker is white, in his late fifties, with short black and white hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a coat.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation, should contact Stephen Howells at High Wycombe police station, on the non-emergency number 101.

The guy was brandishing a knife at him, I don't think he would have been too keen on actually catching up with him to be fair

I recall hearing a news story nearly 20 years ago - amazing how people forget - of a man who chased a thief out of a department store and as the staff member apprehended the thief - he was repeatedly stabbed. You don't put your life at risk when a person is brandishing a lethal weapon its not worth it
