HUNDREDS of children, musicians and parents came together to celebrate the opening of a new music academy on Saturday.
The Chiltern Music Academy launch extravaganza Big Noise took place at the Cressex Community School.
Young musicians aged five to 19 played instruments and were given workshops and lessons by professional musicians including the charity's patrons, Nicholas Daniel and Christine Rice.
The day finished with a première performance of Chiltern Pieces- a specially commissioned masterpiece crafted to showcase each individual ability group, directed by the acting principal, Sally Stafford.
Ian Moore, chair of trustees of the CMA, said: "Within five hours, these young people have created outstanding music and a fantastic community atmosphere. I expected something special from the Chiltern Music Academy and they certainly have delivered."
The Chiltern Music Academy has been created by parents and music professionals whose vision is to provide an independent music academy which will nurture and support the developing musician in every child.
