GREAT food and reacting to customers’ changing tastes is the reason behind Mr India winning the BFP’s Indian Restaurant of the Year competition, its owner says.

The restaurant in London Road, Loudwater, swept aside their rivals to take the BFP’s curry crown for a second time.

Co-owner Kazi Islam said: “We are delighted but I think our customers are more pleased than we are, as we have great support.

“They keep asking ‘when is the result?’ so they are very excited. I think we won because we have great curry and great service.”

The curry house celebrates its 16th birthday on November 8, with Mr Islam planning a party to celebrate the milestone and the award win.

He said: “We will have a joint celebration in November; I think we’ve been successful because we listen to our customers all the time.

“I monitor customer’s tastes and we tailor the menu accordingly. People are eating spicier food now so we give them what they want.”

This is the sixth year the Free Press has held the curry house contest.
