TWO Wycombe Wanderers supporting sisters are preparing to saddle up for a charity cycle ride challenge following their team.

Leanne and Lana Hurford will be cycling around 65 miles for their team's final match of the season at Northampton Town.

They're hoping to raise around £2,500 to fund research into prostate cancer after their grandfather Don was diagnosed with the condition at Christmas time.

The sisters, who live in Hazlemere, hope up 12 of their fellow Wanderers fans will join them on their cycling challenge.

And with the ride not taking place until May, 17-year-old estate agent Leanne and 22-year-old admin assistant Lana have plenty of time to prepare themselves.

The pair don't actually own bikes - they'll be hiring some on the day - and instead have been putting in the miles in the gym at Handy Cross.

Leanne said: "I've joined in with other stuff before but I haven't organised anything myself before.

"Last year quite a few guys we know at football did a walk to Oxford's ground and raised money for the club. I wanted to do something similar that wasn't a walk.

"Northampton is one of the closer teams, it's at the end of the season, so it all fitted in quite nicely."

Of the money raised from the bike ride the majority will be donated to Prostate Cancer UK, while the rest will be donated to Wanderers.
