A robbery took place in a Chesham petrol station last night.

At 10.15pm a man entered the Shell service station in Nashleigh Hill and pointed what is believed to be a gun or an imitation gun at staff, demanding money.

No money was available from the till, so the man left empty handed. No one was injured during the robbery.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses.

The man is white, 6ft and of medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, a grey hooded top under the jacket, grey jeans, black shoes and a balaclava.

Detective Constable Diane Rooney, investigating officer from Amersham Force CID, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information about the incident.

“Incidents of this nature are rare in Chesham and officers are in the process of carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and investigating the circumstances.”

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to call DC Rooney on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.
